About Race Week 2025
Plymouth Race Week known as the Yachtsman’s Regatta is organised and run by the Royal Western Yacht Club. Whether inside or outside of the breakwater the race course provides excellent shelter against big seas, offering excellent sailing conditions in the unique Port of Plymouth.
It is no surprise that Plymouth has hosted both Sail GP and America’s Cup World Series events in recent years. Plymouth Race Week allows the opportunity for all visiting teams to experience racing in those same waters as seen on TV.
Plymouth Race Week was back in 2024 and what a great success it was. Offering fantastic competitive racing, great shore side facilities together with a superb social programme and 2025 looks to even set the bar higher!
The Southwest Regatta circuit consisting of Plymouth Race Week in July, Falmouth Week, Torbay Regatta and Dartmouth Regatta in August offers the very best available regatta circuit available anywhere in the UK.
The South West of England has the most beautiful coastline for inshore racing in the UK with the bonus of having unparalleled cruising opportunities all along the coast. A great way for visiting yachts to combine both fantastic regatta sailing with family cruising.
With Plymouth Gin being the main sponsors, on the Thursday evening Plymouth Race Week again kicks off with the renowned Plymouth Gin Race, a stand-alone warm up, single start, competitive fun race, from a committee boat start followed by a “round the cans” race and finishing on the RWYC club line. When you come in from the water, Plymouth Gin welcomes you to the club house for presentations and socialising with your fellow competitors. This first race offers our competitors a great way to learn the sailing waters and develop their tactics while at the same time bagging some Plymouth Gin!!
The RWYC welcomes all past and future competitors to Plymouth Race Week 2025. We guarantee it will be a regatta to remember.
